The digital dollar is nigh - The Fed and several banks have begun testing the digital dollar with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
The FTX rabbit hole - FTX fallout unveils connections to Ukraine, Epstein, the World Economic Forum, the Clintons, and the list goes on. The disastrous FTX collapse was precipitated by a concentration of control in the hands of only a few inexperienced, and possibly compromised individuals.
ElixirConf 2022- The ElixirConf US 2022 talks were released; great talks all around, but I particularly enjoyed seeing the developments in LiveBook, in LiveView generally, and especially in LiveView Native.
Getting root access to Starlink - With a lot of soldering and well-timed zaps, researchers have achieved root access on a Starlink terminal. The vulnerability poses no immediate threat to Starlink, but opens the door to possibly updating firmware and repurposing Starlink dishes for other uses.
Linux on smartphones, specifically a OnePlus 6 - The state of Linux on the phone is getting quite good. The adaptive gesture control really lets gesture-based navigation feel natural.
Text animations - Tobias Ahlin Bjerromen has been kind enough to create this nifty open source collection of text animations that use JavaScript & anime.js
Algorithm Visualizer [ source] - An interactive online platform that visualizes algorithms from code.
Classic UX demos - Human-computer interaction demo videos going all the way back to 1983 - when humans and computers were still getting to know each other.
