Our Process: Clear, Efficient, and Agile
The process at DBA consists of strategic planning, diligent execution, and constant communication. We understand that it’s not just about being “very good developers” – though we are that too – but it’s also about the commitment to a process that emphasizes clarity and transparency, so you’re always in the know.
Our work week begins with internal meetings where we assess the project management system, address potential hurdles for the upcoming week, and measure progress since the last product meeting. This helps us stay agile (or “agile-lite” as Adam likes to say) and respond quickly to changing dynamics or priorities.
Later in the week we hold product meetings with stakeholders. This is where we document the progress made over the past week and prioritize the tasks for the next week. These sessions are typically 30 minutes to an hour-long but packed with fruitful discussions and decision-making.
Keeping Everyone in the Loop
We meet via Zoom, sharing screens and poring over a shared Google Document located in the Client Folder in our Google Drive. This living document is a chronicle of every meeting, capturing critical information that may be needed to onboard a new team member, and so much more.
But communication at DBA isn’t limited to these meetings alone. We have an always-on channel of communication via Slack that facilitates seamless interaction between our developers, project managers, the client, product owners, and any other stakeholders. This continuous dialogue is essential in our pursuit of transparency and client satisfaction.
How We Maintain Constant Updates and Feedback
Our work is continuously deployed to a staging environment. We have bots integrated into Slack that alert us when new code is merged and deployed, ensuring that the latest updates are always available for review. We track our tickets in a project management system, and our reports help us pinpoint any issues with our development pipeline over time. We have also leveraged the power of Slack to automate manual processes, meaning glimpses of what is happening while it is happening.
All these moving parts come together to create a process that places transparency at the forefront. We believe in providing our clients with maximum visibility to ensure we’re delivering the maximum ROI. After all, we understand that we’re graded by the results we deliver, but also by the process we employ to achieve those results. And just as we provide visibility to our clients, we too require visibility so we can continually iterate on and improve our processes.
